The first locomotive factory of independent India came into existence on 26 January 1950 in Chittaranjan town of West Bengal.<br /><br />ಸ್ವತಂತ್ರ ಭಾರತದ ಮೊದಲ ಲೊಕೊಮೊಟಿವ್ ಕಾರ್ಖಾನೆ 26 ಜನವರಿ 1950 ರಂದು ಪಶ್ಚಿಮ ಬಂಗಾಳದ ಚಿತ್ತರಂಜನ್ ಪಟ್ಟಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಅಸ್ತಿತ್ವಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದಿತು.<br />
